Welcome to the Sandbanks Play Area! Uniquely set on a bed of soft beach sand, this playground offers a safe, enclosed, and incredibly fun environment for children of all ages.
From its pirate-themed structures and buddy swings to the massive 6-metre climbing net, it’s the ultimate spot to tire out the little ones before heading to a beachside cafe for lunch or catching the open-top bus home.

For Older Kids: The undisputed star of the park is the towering 6-metre high twin-masted rope climbing net!

For Toddlers & Younger Kids: There are sensory sand-play stations (covered by a protective sail shade), a large spinning dish, fun rockers, and a multi-person buddy swing.
The play area is incredibly easy to find. It is located directly behind Sandbanks Beach, sandwiched right between the beach promenade and the main Sandbanks Surface Car Park (Postcode: BH13 8QJ).
Because the park borders the car park, you don’t have to haul your buggy or beach bags very far at all! Please note that the car park is Pay & Display and fills up very quickly during the peak summer months.
Because the park shares the main Sandbanks Beach promenade, you have access to incredible facilities right on your doorstep.
Immediately adjacent to the park, you will find clean public toilets (including disabled facilities and baby changing).
If you’re hungry, the Sandbanks Beach Café, Jazz Cafe, and numerous kiosks selling ice cream, cold drinks, and hot food are just a stone’s throw away.
The park is completely enclosed with safety fencing to keep little wanderers secure. While the play area itself has a soft sand floor (which can be tricky for standard wheelchairs and some pushchairs to roll through), the perimeter paths and access points from the main promenade are entirely flat and level.
There are also benches provided around the edges for parents to sit and supervise.
