Welcome to the “Sporting Glastonbury”! Taking over the late May Bank Holiday weekend, Bournemouth 7s is the UK’s ultimate festival for young adults. Combining fiercely competitive (and highly social) sports during the day with massive, multi-arena music festivals at night, it is an absolute must-do event on the South Coast.
Welcome to Bournemouth 7s! Set across a sprawling 65-acre site near Bournemouth Airport, this award-winning festival perfectly blends team sports with high-energy party vibes. Whether you are playing on a team or just coming for the music & atmosphere, it is a spectacular way to kick off the summer.
During the day, the festival grounds host hundreds of teams competing across Rugby 7s, Netball, Dodgeball, Hockey, Volleyball, & Fitness Games. You can wander between the pitches, grab a drink, & watch everything from elite-level athletes to social teams playing in hilarious fancy dress.
When the final whistles blow, the sports pitches close & the festival arenas roar to life. With over 100 live acts & DJs spread across 12 incredible themed arenas (including the legendary Bingo Lingo & massive Big Top tent), you can dance to everything from RnB & house to indie & cheese until 1:00 AM.
Elevate your weekend with VIP or V.VIP tickets, granting you access to exclusive luxury lounges, private bars, & prime viewing platforms. For the ultimate festival experience, B7s offers a massive campsite, including highly sought-after “Glamping” packages with pre-pitched bell tents & premium facilities.
Since its launch in 2008, the Bournemouth 7s Festival has grown into a global phenomenon. Drawing university students, sports clubs, & music lovers from all over the UK to the Dorset coast, it has firmly established itself as the undisputed king of the late May Bank Holiday.
What makes Bournemouth 7s so unique is the daytime atmosphere. Instead of just waiting by a stage for a band to come on, the festival site is completely alive with action. You can sit pitch-side with a pint of cider, cheering on a dodgeball team dressed as superheroes, before wandering over to a massive beer tent to catch an afternoon acoustic set.
Fancy dress is a massive part of the Bournemouth 7s culture. Every year features a specific festival theme, & thousands of attendees go all-out with their outfits on the Saturday. It creates a vibrant, hilarious, & incredibly friendly atmosphere across the entire site.
Alongside the sports & music, the festival village is packed with fairground rides, immersive brand activations, & a huge array of artisan street food vendors to keep you fuelled up for the weekend.
As the sun goes down, Bournemouth 7s transforms into a full-scale music festival. The site boasts 12 unique arenas, each with its own distinct musical flavour. Whether you want to sing along to 90s anthems, jump to heavy drum & bass, or enjoy an exclusive VIP DJ set, the energy is electric.
Because the festival completely sells out of its 30,000 capacity every single year, the atmosphere in the Big Top arenas is comparable to some of the biggest music festivals in Europe!
Is Bournemouth 7s strictly over 18s? Yes. Bournemouth 7s is strictly a strictly over-18s event. There are no exceptions for babies or children. The festival operates a very strict Challenge 25 policy at the gates, so every single attendee must bring a physical, valid photographic ID (Passport or Driving License) to gain entry.
Can I attend just for the music without playing sports? Absolutely! In fact, roughly half of the 30,000 festival-goers attend purely for the music, the drinks, & the incredible atmosphere. You do not need to be part of a sports team to buy a standard Weekend or Day Ticket.
Is there parking available at the festival? Yes, there is a large, dedicated festival car park on site (parking passes must be purchased in advance). However, the festival also runs a brilliant, frequent shuttle bus service that picks up & drops off directly from Bournemouth Town Centre & the main train station, which is highly recommended!
Bournemouth 7s tickets & camping packages sell out months in advance every single year! Grab your tickets directly from the official website, or book a local hotel early if you prefer a warm bed over a festival tent!
